UV-Blocking

UV-Blocking

UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed. NOTE: Long term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders. Consult your Eye Care Professional for more information.

Our Inside-Out Marks help make insertion easier by allowing you to determine whether or not your lens is inside out.

On ACUVUE® 2, if you place your lens on your finger and look at it from the side, you should be able to see the 1-2-3 written correctly. If the lens is inside out, the 1-2-3 will appear reversed.

On ACUVUE®, if you place your lens on your finger and look at it from the side, you should be able to see the AV written correctly. If the lens is inside out, the AV will appear reversed.

Contact Lenses are a Medical Device. See Your Eye Care Professional

Nothing is more precious than your sight, and you should never put it at risk. A contact lens is a prescription device and it must only be fit and prescribed by an Eye Care Professional. Although all eyes look pretty much the same, in reality everybody's eyes are slightly different. Eyes come in a variety of shapes and sizes. That's why it's important to have your Eye Care Professional fit your contact lenses for your particular eye shape and size.

Borrowing contact lenses, or obtaining them without a prescription, could lead to serious vision problems due to incorrect fit. Even if you've been wearing contacts for years, it's a good idea to have your Eye Care Professional check your prescription to make sure that your lenses offer the best possible fit for your unique eyes.

In order to take good care of your eyes, we recommend you see your Eye Care Professional at least once a year. Yearly visits can detect vision changes as well as any other unseen problems.
